Is there ever an explanation given for why the main character, son of the Emperor of Britannia (an Empire which, bizarrely enough, does not contain the British isles, or any of Europe for that matter) would have a blatantly French name?
I mean, Lelouch Lamperouge. That's pretty fucking French. All I've got is possibly that he's descended from Québécois, but since Code Geass is a Japanese production and I doubt CLAMP have ever even heard of Canada, I find this unlikely.
