It's funny. Up until Doctor Who and Torchwood, I never cared about spoilers. I've accidently spoiled people, facepalmed and apologized, but thought: This is a dumb ass thing to be upset about.
I kind of get it now. For me it's not the information of what's coming in the show - if I like it, I like it, if I don't I've got some time to brace a bit. It's that fandom's batshit, and if I know what's going to happen it's going to come with everyone and their mother telling me how they FEEL about that happening.
