1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your music player and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it’s over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them.
This one's for One Piece. I'll probably do others.
1. Last Exile - Silverna
Commodore Smoker strode in front of his newly assembled troops. They were all standing at attention, waiting while he inspected them.
Three thousand men. Three battleships. It was more than he'd ever commanded in his life. More than he'd ever expected to command. More than he'd ever really wanted to command. He'd been quite satisfied with his one ship, and his simple duties. He sighed. That time was over.
"In three hour's time we set sail," he called out to them. "We will make for the New World. We will find the Straw Hat wherever he hides, and we will bring him to justice!"
The assembled men cheered.
2. Mae - Home
Usopp hesitated for a moment before knocking on the door. It had been so long since he had been here...would she even remember him? Did she want him to come back?
Then, summoning up his courage, he rapped on the solid oak door with his knuckles. The sound it made seemed to be swallowed up by the wood, but he could hear people moving about behind it. A moment later, they swung inwards slightly, and a familiar sheep-like face pushed through the gap.
"Yes? Oh, my goodness! Master Usopp! it's been--"
"A long time," Usopp said with a grin. "Could you let Kaya know that I've come back?"
3. Hunchback of Notre Dame - Court of Miracles
The pirate bar was loud and rowdy. There were fights every minute or so, and it wasn't all that uncommon for someone to be badly hurt or even die while there. it was, in short, everything a rowdy tavern should be.
But what Luffy liked best about it was that it was right under the Marine Headquarters, and they were none the wiser.
4. Five Iron Frenzy - Farenheit 451
"Burn them."
The Marines looked up at their Admiral, puzzlement etched across their faces.
"Sir? All of them sir?"
Akainu fixed him with a steely gaze. "There are heretical documents in this library. Justice demands that they must be destroyed."
"But, sir," the brave marine said, "this is a veritable treasure-trove of knowledge! We can't just--"
"You can and you will," Akainu said, turning his back on them. "You have your orders."
5. Gurren Lagann - Track Three
Luffy gasped, and took another step forward, supporting himself on a large stick that he'd found somewhere. Usopp, half a step behind him, tried to keep up, but the heat was affecting him just as badly.
"We just need to make it to the next town," he said, but Luffy would have none of it.
"Where's the stupid water!? I've had enough of this!"
Usopp sighed. Crossing the desert with Luffy was always an unpleasant experience.
6. Gurren Lagann - Track 6
The guns of the battleships were deafening. They pounded again, and again, beating out a furious refrain. Ahead of them, their shots exploded against the pirate stronghold, blowing holes in the defensive walls.
"Idiots," Smoker said as he lit up a fresh cigar. "A pirate's got no business making a fortress. Just makes it easier for us to find them."
Tashigi ran up to him, her arms full of reports. She stumbled as she neared him, but managed to avoid falling completely flat on her face. "S-sir! Warrant Officer Tashi-"
"Yes, yes, what's going on?" he asked her, dismissing the formalities with a wave of his hand.
Tashigi began shuffling through the papers, looking for the right one. "A report from Intelligence Officer Drake," she said, handing him the relevant document. "it appears that the pirates have taken ivilians hostage, and are using them as shields."
Smoker scanned the page quickly, then snorted in disgust. "Annoying bastards. Looks like we can't just bomb them out, then."
He blew out a puff of smoke while he considered. "Tashigi, prepare a boat. Me and you are going to get those civilians out."
"M-me, sir?" Tashigi said, surprised.
7. Stan Rogers - Night Guard
The most important thing to remember, if you were going to live in Yuba, was not to try and steal from the 0ld man.
His place seemed like easy pickings, after his son left town. After all, he was old, and weak and tired. Not able to defend himself, or his property, surely.
A week after Kohza had moved out, three men snuck into his property and made off with some valuable livestock. Emboldened by their success, they returned the next night, and the next night.
After the third theft, the old man bought a gun. And when the thieves came again, he shot them all in the leg and told them to go home.
8. Serial Experiments Lain (Cyberia Remix) - Psychedelic Farm
It seemed sometimes that Luffy took any opportunity to start a party. he'd always had this tendency, but with the addition of a musician to his crew, he indugled it more than ever, filling night after night with the sound of music, dancing, and booze. Lots of booze.
This one seemed like a particular success. It was just a sleepy farm village, so they hadn't been expecting a great turn-out, but once Brooke started the band going a whole flock of smal animals had turned out, and you wouldn't believe how well those little mice could dance.
It took almost haf an hour for two people to compare notes and realize they weren't seeing the same thing. The truth rapidly became clear: someone had spiked the drinks with something a good deal stronger.
9. Shouko Nakagawa - Sorairo Days (Kareoke)
"Whooooooo!"
Chopper went off a small jump, wobbled about in midair for a moment, and then landed it. It wasn't a very smooth landing, but after a few moments he had himself back unde control, and was slowing himself to a stop.
"This is so awesome! We didn't have any sports like this back on Drum Island, but I bet Doctorine would love it!"
Robin smiled at him. "You seem to be enjoying yourself, Doctor-san. How fast can you go on this 'snowboard'?"
"Just watch!" he shouted up at her, and then took off again, speeding down the hill as fast as he could. he made such a ridiculous sight, perched on top of that piece of wood, that Robin had to chuckle a little."
Another excited shout came from above her, and Robin looked up in time to see Nami clear the jump. But she was riding on top of her Waver.
10. Gurren Lagann - Track 24
It was the simplest thing in the world. A basic human need, possessed by everybody across all five oceans. And yet, when you have been denied it for so long, it was also the best thing in the world.
Robin brushed a few tears out of her eye, chuckling as she advised the assembled group-hug that they could let her go now. It was getting hard to breathe.
