asdkl this has been building up for quite a while but I'm just going to let it all out. Spoilers for recent Naruto chapters.

I never thought I would be raging over INO of all characters. I have never found her even slightly interesting. Really, there isn't anything more to her in canon than 'bossy girl who wants to bone Sasuke' and I can't really get interested in that.

(I can hear you saying now, 'But Peter! But Peter! You love Tenten and she arguably has even less than that!' To which I respond 'yes, but you have to bear in mind SHUT UP YOU'RE RUINING EVERYTHING PURE AND DECENT'. In seriousness it's probably the 'wants to bone Sasuke' thing that turns me off her character)

But, OK, Kishimoto managed to make me rage over his treatment of a character that I have exactly no investment in. MIRACLEHATE. Remember this page? Yeah, that's Ino. Crying over the fact that they're going to have to hella kill Sasuke.

It's like a volcano of hatred went off in my head! Sakura, fine. She was his teammate, she formed a close relationship with him, and saving him has been her mission in life for years. If she's ging to cry over him, then that is perfectly fine. But INO? Ino who never formed an actual relationship with him? Ino who barely even ever spoke to him? Ino who has not seen him or, up until this moment, as far as we can tell, even thought about him in over THREE YEARS!?

Guess what, Kishimoto. Sometimes, people, even girls, GET OVER the crushes they have when they are twelve years old! Seriously! This happens, I promise you! Especially when the person in question fucks off for THREE FUCKING YEARS and you never even knew the person in question, anyway!

Sometimes, people GET OVER THEIR INFATUATIONS. Especially over the course of years, and especially as you go through puberty. What was the point in that timeskip, if you weren't going to have your characters grow up in the interim!?

Ino crying over Sasuke, at this point in the story, is complete and utter bullshit, and just symptomatic of the standard misogynistic garbage that Kishimoto loves to shovel into his work. God, fuck this manga. MIRACLEHATE.

Not even the fact that Tenten speaks can save that page. Also who wants to write some Tenten/Ino now? I know I do.

This was the first FS I've read in weeks. A good secret, but I object rather strongly to calling Lucy "weak."

Well, I think it was put in quote marks for a reason. As in, she's not a fighting machine like Natsu or Erza, making her "weak" in that regard, but that doesn't mean that she has nothing to offer.

Heh, not really. However from what I could see, it always looked like Ino was wearing nothing but bandages around her nether regions. Well, and a skirt.

Eh, I would count those bandages as underwear. Works for Katara, after all.

Honestly, given Ino's singular gift for holding a grudge, I'd think she'd be the most bloody-mindedly eager of any of them to go after his guts. He sold every one of them out, and Ino is not the forgiving flower of mercy that Sakura, uh...sometimes can be...y'know, when she's not smashing you flat for crossing her... Okay, fine, only if you're Sasuke. >.>

Basically, it comes down to: I don't buy that Sasuke is SO SPESHUL that not one but two beautiful, capable, smart kunoichi are willing to whitewash all his many ills. I just don't. Dragging your girls out of character with the magnetic force of a Stu, for extra drama, is not good writing, Kishimoto. Srsly.

(Bless Chouji's heart for unabashedly comforting her even in her OOC fit of grief for that scummer, though. Chouji, you can be in the Deserves A Better Canon Club with Lee and Sakura and Jiraiya and Tsunade, okay? ♥)

You know... I far prefer the fandom!Ino to canon!Ino. But, the trouble with that is, that's Ino, in my head. So when I saw this page I'm just, like, '...why the shit is she crying?'. Took a minute or two there.

idk, my pet theory atm is that she's crying for Sakura having to make this decision to let them kill a former teammate (and, really, when your teacher has drilled into that teamwork/teammates are the highest value, that's gotta be hard), rather than any residual crush on him.

But that'd be giving Kishimoto faaaar too much credit.

And, yes, TenTen/Ino would be awesome. And hot. I'd write it. In fact, when I find out where the kink meme has wandered off to this time, I may just request it.

That would actually make a good deal more sense! But I think we all know that that's not what Kishi's actually doing.

You know what, I think I have to write that fic now. Where there's an actual goddamn conversation, and that's why she's upset and there is girl friendship and screw Sasuke (~~and Tenten too~~ no, wait, that came out wron,g I meant that Tenten is in the fic and also being awesome. English, I can does it) and not just ~Random sobbing Ino~.

Kishimoto can continue to bite that ass he's been biting for years for ignoring purportedly his 'favorite' female character.
