I'm a little surprised you are only learning this now, though. Clearly you need to watch more of the series, as it is one of the dietary recommendations for dairy product.
G Gundam is the manliest Gundam. The only robot shows I've been able to get through are Geass (shutupshutupshutup) and TTGL, but if I made it past the first episode of a Gundam show it would probably be G.
The only mecha anime I'd seen all the way through prior to starting watching G Gundam were TTGL and Basquash (which is like TTGL, but with basketball).
It is without question the manliest Gundam.
[EDIT]Actually, correction: I did watch all of NGE, except I got bored and stopped midway through the second-last episode. Sorry, I wanted giant robots, not PHI 1000 bullshit.
I need to watch the manly Gundams. G Gundam and Zeta Gundam come ADTRW-approved, and I've learned that what ADTRW likes is generally awesome so. I'm on it.
