Tennant WAS awesome this episode. That little bit where he proved his time-travelling abilities to her was great, and a total WTF moment until the very end of the episode.
Martha seems like she'll work out well. Definately seems more useful than Rose was! Not that that's saying much. I love Rose dearly, but her entire role in the show was to be put in danger so the Doctor has conflict.
The only part of the episode that has me a little ill-at-ease is that kiss. I mean, there was a purpose behind it, so it may not be the sign of romance to come! And god do I ever hope that it is not. Rose was fine, but not again, please.
The Doctor seems to be a bit more hesitant about romance now, with what happened to Rose (and I think also cos of that episode with the French lady...I forget now, it was ages ago). She fancies him, although I can't say I blame her, but that's probably as far as it's gonna go this time round.

Also, <3 The Girl in the Fireplace. probably my favorite episode of both Tennant AND Eccleston's run.
