It baffles me. It really does.
I mostly stay away from 'idiot heavy' online games, such as FPSes and Diablo 2. The audience these games attract tends to have fairly high number of jackasses, as the game involves little thinking. Mostly, I play Warcraft II and Starcraft. Both of these games require sufficient mental capacity that it weeds out most of the idiots.
Every now and then, though...
One of the most frustrating aspects of Warcraft III is the final phase, when they've already lost and are either dropping or making one last futile effort. Sometimes they choose to hide, building buildings in random, not traveled locations that the winners have to weed out before they can claim their prize. This, by the way, is an asshole tactic. It serves no purpose except to bother the shit out of real players who won.
This one guy built a THOUSAND hiding spots. All of them, or most of them anyways, were Necropolises, so they wouldn't be revealed. He didn't do SHIT for the entire rest of the game-only made these shitty expansions that did nothing.
It took us about half an hour to find them all. In the end, I got fed up and used a Goblin Laboratory to reveal the entire map-cost me about a thousand gold. Then, when we finished the bitch off, the last thing he said was 'Nice Hax'.

He led my team on a merry chase across the whole map, and then accuses us of hacking. I'd be very interested personally in where he got the gold for all those fucking necropoli. If anyone was hacking, it was him.
