I have a confession to make
I seriously, seriously, cannot stand Peter Chung's work.
I know a lot of people like it, and I an respect that, but I just cannot bring myself to support this man's apparent war on the aesthetically pleasing. Every single thing he does is so fucking UGLY. I mean, seriously, look at it. What the hell is happening to that poor woman's abdomen? Whatever it is, it's a thing of horrors.
Really, this isn't so much pissing on realistic anatomy so much as it's ejaculating furiously into its eyesockets while screeching "WHO'S A PRETTY BITCH BOY, WHO'S A PRETTY BITCH BOY". Those fucking ribs will haunt me until the day I die. She looks like you could snap her in two with a finger.
I don't have anything against stylized art, really I don't. I'm not an anatomy whore, and if you want to apply your own style to it then go right ahead. Heck, some of my favorite art is very stylized. But how can anyone look at this is then come away saying, with a straight face, 'this looks really really good'?
I also hold the same opinion on Skottie Young's art, but that's another topic for another day.

Incidentally, there is an episode in which a woman has a vertabrae removed and can contort herself into all sorts of horrible, physically impossible positions, and essentially really could be snapped in half with a finger. Just, she could recover from it.
And in the end her legs got chopped off, making some sort of statement about, uh...the vulnerablility of the human condition, or...something...I don't know, I mainly watch it for the fight scenes and the weirdness and Trevor Goodchild's lines ("That which doesn't kill us makes us stranger") and stuff.

After a run on AF episodes, after a while you can see parts of it that really are beautiful.
Oh well, certain styles don't please everyone. There are tons of folks who can't get past the first episodes of One Piece for that reason :o
