God, I know exactly how you feel. I mean, I love the show, but after every episode I have to go look at something aesthetically pleasing before I can continue.
Incidentally, there is an episode in which a woman has a vertabrae removed and can contort herself into all sorts of horrible, physically impossible positions, and essentially really could be snapped in half with a finger. Just, she could recover from it.
And in the end her legs got chopped off, making some sort of statement about, uh...the vulnerablility of the human condition, or...something...I don't know, I mainly watch it for the fight scenes and the weirdness and Trevor Goodchild's lines ("That which doesn't kill us makes us stranger") and stuff.
