Hey, if it gets cancelled, there's always the extremely slim chance that it'd get picked up by Adult Swim and have a nice bloody final chapter.

It's not getting cancelled, it's ending in 15 already-made episodes anyways. They just seem determined to enrage me as much as possible by mishandling it. It's like they've never had a worthwhile piece of intellectual property before...oh wait, this is Nickelodeon. I forgot.

Wow. If this is about the uk airdates then how can you even be enraged?

I mean we are getting the exact same avvietar but earlier. Episodes 6-9 just finished downloading, and the torrent was like the first hit for "avatar" on mininova.

I'm going to assume that this is about something else because I do not see how more episodes faster could be anything but awesome?

But, the fact of the matter is that stupidly thrusting the first half of the LAST season into the stratosphere messes up SO MANY discussions/forums, and causes a riff between those who watch all at once, and the minority who want to enjoy it as *long* as possible.
I fail to understand how Nick could be concerned about ratings, and then pull a stunt like this.

Well it is really a general complaint but that is the thing that sparkedit, yes. There are many things not to like about it all coming out at once. Starting with the fact that it means that we will need to wait like a month at the very least to get at the second half of the season. That is a month in addition to whatever we would have had to wait otherwise. And what's more, I was enjoying watching it on a weekly basis: I have a friend in Japanland that I would watch it with via the internet, I hung out in an AIM chat with a bunch of other Avatar fans every friday for squeeing purposes, and the aftermath of a new episode on 4chan is always awesome. It was part of my weekly routine, and it was good.

And man, Avatar is not One Piece. One's enjoyment of it is not enhanced by watching it all at once. The enjoyment is only shortened.

Also, this is going to fuck up the ratings, which not only makes further seasons less likely (and yes, milking it out would suck, but no matter what the story of Aang and Ozai is over at the end of this season, so anything further would either be about them, only older, or be a completely new show set in the same world, either one of which could be win), it also hurts the chances of other shows being made in the same vein.

Yeah, this recent thing was really what put Nick in my "full-on despising corner".

I'm glad that the UK isn't behind us anymore, but why did they have to give them *all* of the first half? Who are they letting control the vault or whatever???
Honestly.
Luckily, those who I talk/rant/squee to are being good about not spoiling me, but the fact that they know and I don't (yet)is depressing.
In the (unlikely)event I DO fail at self-control, I'll still watch them as scheduled for the sake of teh (ever slipping) ratings.

They (Nick) did sign a 6 yr contract, so a continuance hopefully will be a possibility. Or maybe they'll trade the future project to another (more deserving!) network for the fluff and lackluster programs they're used to dealing with.

I'm just enjoying the ride, and watching three episodes back to back didn't hurt me none. And really, I strongly doubt it'll break the Avatar franchise, although then again I don't want it to be prolonged either.

I mean yeah okay I get the weekly routine thing I guess, but other than that, nothing's actually changed except a new option being presented. I mean yeah Nick are batshit crazy and retarded, I ain't arguing that, but I'm all about the carpe diem and yesterday's diem was good.

Also in that extra month you should just concern yourself with watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, because I am fairly confident that you would enjoy the series. In terms of epicness, it's a bit like Luffy holding the flag at the top of Drum Castle and beating the snot out of Crocodile, combined with like Aang going into the avatar state and raping fire nation face, all rolled into one and repeated over and over for 27 episodes and I swear it is the manliest, most epic show ever. I am not one to normally use the word GAR, but oh man

Basically Usopp is no longer the captain of my heart because even his manly warrior's spirit is overshadowed by that of the great Kamina.

It's not really presenting me with an option, though, as it is basically the choice between watching it all at once and then waiting a month for more, or not using the internet at ALL for that month as spoilers are in 90% of the places I go on the internet. This is clearly not a choice at all.

Also just to spite you I think I will spend that month rewatching Skypeia instead. JUST TO SPITE YOU.
