Alright, this deserves linking. An excellent essay about the symbolism and the like in Gurren Lagann.

I know, I know, many of you out there are probably thinking 'Peter? Endorsing analysis of a fictional work for the purpose of uncovering meaning? Are you feeling all right?', but I make an exception for Gurren Lagann. That shit is way deeper than any series about mecha that wear sunglasses has any right to be.
