Icons!

Well, Stone Ocean recently finished. For those of you not in the know, Stone Ocean was part six of the amazing saga that is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. And considering the ending, and how part seven is set in an alternate timeline, Stone Ocean is most likely the final chapter in the continuity that we know and love. Therefore, considering the dearth of icons for Jojo's in general (and Stone Ocean in particular), I've decided to make some of my own.

Total Icons: 25

Annasui - 03
Emporio Alnino - 03
Enrico Pucci - 03
Hermes Costello - 02
Jolyne Kujo - 04
Jotaro Kujo - 06
Jotaro's Watch - 01
Weather Report(Stand) - 02
Weather Report - 01

-All icons made from scans of the last ten chapters of the manga. Scans courtesy of Jojo Project
-Comments are appreciated, but not required. Similarly, I would appreciate it if you would credit [livejournal.com profile] pikabot if you use them, but if you don't I'm not going to get on your case for it
-If you feel the desire to modify these icons/use them as bases, feel free. Just credit me
-I am well aware that I am not a photoshop wizard. Any advice for future iconmaking is appreciated

I seriously think it's the art style. I happen to like 'older' looking manga series, so it's awesome looking to me but I think most American manga readers like it typically big eyes/thin faces, etc. A reason I think not enough people read One Piece (although it does have a huge fanbase) Oda's odd style + hairy non-bishies.

Okay-- I had honestly forgotten about the size! That is surely a big part. I know more than a few people that think FMA (at 88 chapters) is too big, they would die over JoJo.

I think I'll start pimping that sucker hard and fast, IT NEEDS FOR FANS

It's actually kinda awesome to be able to talk about JoJo at ALL let alone like this. It's great to see a fan of something admit the flaws in it, although I agree. And over all sometimes the plots might be taken as really WEIRD by most people, so that's a part of it.

I actually have to finish Stone Ocean after the holidays, I sort of don't WANT to finish, I'll miss it!

Well, that's not fair—jojo is ~100 volumes long, while FMA is, what, approaching 30?  Besides, FMA is monthly and JoJo was weekly, so chapter length parity could only be reasonably expected when SBR starting being released in Ultra Jump....

(On the other hand, each standalone arc is <20 volumes, which shouldn't be too daunting to anyone used to following major shounen series....)

Ah, I see now.  Yes, reading JoJo is like reading FMA "only" 5 times, not 10! XD
