And now we're right back, doing the exact same fucking thing they did in the seventies with Kung Fu. Fuck. At least there they tried to rationalize Carradine's whiteness away having Caine be half-American. No such rationalization is possible in the Avatar universe! You'd think we'd have learned something over the past thirty-forty years but APPARENTLY NOT.

Second day of Comic-Con. I've managed to get a sunburn. But not all over my arms or something, like you would expect. No, I've successfully managed to sunburn just a tiny patch on my left arm. It's about an inch and a half long, half an inch wide, ovally-shaped. How I managed this I have no idea.

For panels today, I eschewed the practical side of things and went for promotional stuff. First I headed to Marvel's annual 'Cup of Joe' panel with Joe Quesada. here were other people there too, who mostly I forget but Orson Scott Card, Reginald Hudlin, and Jeph Loeb were among the panelists. During the panel, Jeph Loeb kept RANDOMLY plugging his Ultimatum series, which was amusing at first but got old really quickly. And then, they showed us a clip from the upcoming Black Panther animated series.

Now, let me be plain. A Black Panther animated series, created by BET, with Reginald Hudlin at the wheel? Being good was never on the table. Only various levels of failure. But it was worse than I ever dared to imagine. It featured ancient tribal african warriors talking like characters out of The Boondocks (KISS MY BUTT WAKANDA? Seriously?) and 'animation' that's really just them taking John Romita Jr. art, separating the individual parts of the body, and tweening them together. It looks like it was made by Assfuck McGee in his basement with an ancient version of flash. It's that bad.

Directly afterwards, there was the Spectacular Spider-man panel, which was all kinds of great. They showed us a 'best of' reel from the first season, and a preview of season two. I'm really looking forward to season two. They also revealed that for the DVD releases, they're actualy recutting each three-episode arc into a full movie, with new content that was either cut for S&P purposes or added to fill in the storytelling gaps. Looks pretty great.

And then the Avatar panel. OH MY GOD THE AVATAR PANEL. It was huge, it was loud, it was incredible. Mike and Bryan are hilarious. I want them to keep making shit together for the rest of their lives.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have noticed this, but for some reason the Avatar fandom seems to have a lack of love for the ladylove. By which I mean that there's basically no femslash content. At all. Despite the canon practically feeding it to us on a silver platter, with a cherry on top.

How does it work? Well, it works like this:

--> People post requests. These requests should be posted in the following format:

Pairing/Threesome/Moresome: (The characters and relationships involved. Must be femslash, obviously. Which means any two ladies from Avatar. Katara/Toph, Ty Lee/Azula, Jun/Lily, it's all good)
Prompt: (A sentence, word, phrase, whatever. Something for the writer to go on. Be as specific or vague as you'd like, but vague is generally better)
Porn: Yes/No/Fishstick (If you specifically want porn, put Yes in this field. If you specifically do NOT want porn, put No in this field. If you don't care and will take either, put Fishstick)
Other: (Any other relevant information goes here)

Requests can be anonymous, or they can be signed. IP logging is off.

--> People fulfill requests. That means they reply to the request with a fanwork for the pairing that matches the prompt and any other information given. Fic, art, whatever, it's all good. Again, these can be posted anonymously or signed, and IP Logging is off. It's better if it's signed, though, so we can tell who to thank.

A few things to remember:

1. Please fill at least as many requests as you make. I hope I don't need to explain why this is necessary. If everybody's requesting and nobody's filling, the meme dies.
2. Please prioritize older requests over new ones. I'm not telling you which ones to fill, but if there's an unfilled request on page one, and an unfilled request on page five, and you're equally inspired by both...please fill the old one first. That requester's been waiting around for longer.
3. Please prioritized unfilled requests over filled ones. If there's a prompt in there that really gets your creative juices flowing, but someone else has already filled it...well, then go ahead, man! Fill it anyway! The requester'll be overjoyed to get two pieces for it. But if there's an unfilled request that you could also be doing...please do that one. Remember, we're trying to share the love as widely as possible.
